Services
At-Home Euthanasia
Carrie Nagel DVM is the licensed veterinarian who will perform the procedure of euthanasia. Our goal is to help your pet transition from life peacefully in the comfort and familiarity of home.
What to Expect
When you call, we will discuss your concerns regarding your pet and discuss the euthanasia process. We will go over the fee for the euthanasia procedure and cremation (if chosen) and provide you with an estimated arrival time to your home. If we are at an appointment and not immediately available by phone, then please leave a message and we will text you the pertinent information right away and follow up with a phone call once available.
Upon arrival to your home, we will review the euthanasia process and answer any questions or concerns not previously addressed. A sedation/pain medication will be administered to allow deep relaxation/alleviate pain; if needed a butterfly intravenous catheter will be used to administer the final medication, an overdose of an anesthetic that will facilitate your pet's transition from life to death.
At-Home Euthanasia Fee - $425
The fee for euthanasia is $425; this includes the house call/consultation, sedative/pain injection(s), and euthanasia administration.
After-Care Options - Cremation
We provide cremation after-care options (we will take your pet with us for cremation). Cremation is a separate fee that will be added to the cost of the at-home euthanasia fee.
- Private Cremation - $295: Private Cremation is provided using traditional flame-based (fire to ashes) cremation (instead of Aquamation using an alkaline fluid for decomposition). Private Cremation ensures that your pet is alone in the cremation chamber (this is different from Individual Cremation in which several pets are in the cremation chamber in individual trays). The fee for Private Cremation is $295.
- General Cremation - $50 or $100: If General Cremation is chosen, your pet's ashes will *not* be returned to you. The fee for smaller pets (under 50 lbs) is $50; larger pets (over 50 lbs) is $100.
**The cremation service works with Oceans of Love - an organization that will scatter your pets ashes at sea (off of the coast of Newport Beach) along with other pets.
Additional Fees - None
- There is no travel fee within our service area
- There are no fees for weekend, holiday or evening appointments
Financial Assistance/Discounted Cost:
If you have budgetary constraints and/or financial need, we work with a local group of private individuals that provides a financial contribution to lower the cost to you - please let us know if this will be helpful/needed.
- If payments are needed, we are able to work with you for affordable partial payment at the time of saying goodbye
- We offer a Senior Citizen discount
- We offer military and police/fire discounts
